Services

The services at Euphonic are tailored to meet the needs of individual clients. Private and group sessions in office or home settings are available. Our key areas of work include:

Language disorders: These delays and disorders range from simple sound substitutions to the inability to understand or use language for communication. They may involve one or more of the components of language including phonological, syntactic, semantic and pragmatic systems. Language disorders may be congenital (e.g. due to developmental delay, cerebral palsy) or acquired (e.g.stroke, trauma, multiple sclerosis).

Speech disorders: These are generally categorized into disorders of speech production: functional articulation disorders, apraxia, dysarthria, and disorders of flow/rhythm of speech (stuttering and cluttering).

Cognitive-communication disorders: These disorders commonly occur due to traumatic brain injury, dementia or stroke. Areas affected generally include attention, memory, thought organization, insight, problem solving, and pragmatics.

Voice disorders: Voice disorders involve abnormalities in the quality, pitch, resonance, or loudness of sound. Common voice disorders include vocal nodules, polyps, vocal cord paralysis, spasmodic dysphonia, puberty-related changes, cleft palate, and laryngectomy.

Dysphagia: Dysphagia refers to the inability to swallow safely and/or efficiently . Dysphagia most commonly results from brain injury, congenital abnormalities and head and neck cancers

Accent modification: Accent modification is a systematic method for changing speech patterns, including pronunciation, voice production, intonation, and rhythm. These programs are suitable for individuals seeking to improve their professional image or to increase personal opportunities.
